Apple iPhone vs. Android: the Choice is Yours

Androids vs. iPhones. The debate goes on and on. At the time the iPhone was first released, there was really no competition. The iPhone was playing in a class of its own. Early Android phones were dismal: slow UI response, lags here and there, and the overall “assemble-it-yourself” idea just didn’t with consumers.

iphone icons
Today, the situation has changed. With the latest iPhone being a superb device and a wonderful system, the latest Androids leave little to be desired. Today’s Androids have no UI lags, feature most of the same apps in the Google Play store, and abandoned the do-it-yourself, LEGO style approach. Today, choosing one phone over another is more of a personal preference. Let’s try to discover what’s best about going the Apple route, and what benefits the Android way can bring.

Hardware and Models

With Apple, you are always limited to just a few models. Or, rather, you can choose from just a single current model in several versions that differ very little. There are a few older models you can get from the used market, but that’s about it. “You can have any color as long as it’s black”.

Android phones, on the other hand, come in all sorts of shapes, models and colors. Various manufacturers use entirely different hardware. Different displays, processors, memory. Very different quality and usability. Buying an Android phone will require you to do a market research, whereas you can’t go really wrong with any iPhone you can afford. Are you a techno geek or a gadget guy? Look for an Android phone you like best. The rest will be served by Apple.

The newest generation of iPhones has a superb Retina display. These super high resolution displays will display your apps, icons and graphics so crisp it’s hard to believe. Kudos to Apple: they built one of the best screens ever.

Android phones come with all kinds of screens. Some of the better ones can match iPhones in pixel density, but software integration is still something to work on. Many apps still have low-resolution icons and graphics designed to be shown on lower-resolution displays. When selecting an Android phone, you will have to watch really carefully to get a model with a good screen. If you’re not friends with numbers, icon resolutions, angles of view and other specs, just leave the Androids alone.

Firmware and UI

An iPhone is an iPhone. They’re all the same. Same operating system, one UI, the same set of pre-installed apps, same icons. You can customize it by moving icons around and picking a few icons on your own, but there’s only so much you’re allowed to do.

Androids are available in many flavors. Different firmware and dozens of OS versions, builds and editions. Different sets of icons for same apps. Many different shells and launchers. Fully customizable: you can make Android phones look like whatever you want (and it’s not just about custom icons) – but you have to know what you’re doing. With such a broad variety, some devices are simply better as in easier to use, more stable and working more reliable than others. If making your very own custom environment is fun for you, by all means get the Android. If you like your phone working straight out of the box, get an iPhone and start using it right away.

Maintenance and Upgrades

iPhones don’t don’t accept memory cards. You’ll be stuck forever with the amount of memory you originally got. If you outgrow your iPhone, you’ll have to get another iPhone, bringing more dough to Apple.

Most but not all Android phones come with a microSD slot, allowing you to add more memory when you need it. With flash memory getting cheaper every year, you will be wealthier in the long run if you buy an Android.

With iPhones, you can’t even swap a battery. If your battery goes bad in some years (they all do; lithium batteries won’t hold charge after 3-4 years), you’ll be mailing your iPhone to Apple for a “major repair” (more dough to Apple), or be on the market for a new iPhone (even more money to Apple).

While some Android devices use similarly user irreplaceable batteries, most devices are easy: just lift the back cover and put a new battery in. A new battery will cost a few dollars, allowing you to buy a replacement phone when you want it.

Android phones are more affordable to buy and more affordable to upgrade and maintain. They’re more extensible and customizable. iPhones work great straight out of the box, and offer possibly the best usage experience ever. Which one to pick? The choice is yours.

Complement your apps with the snazziest of icons

Get your hands on a set of super cool icons designed by professionals. With the right combination of color combination and pictorial content, these icons have the capability to lend an extra edge to your applications based upon windows phone 7 operating system.

When you are designing an application one of the most common problems that you may come across is that of obtaining the right kind of images to lend an air of visual appeal to it. For this purpose you require perfect images and icons that are in sync with the business logic as well as the user interface, which as you well know is hard to achieve.

It takes hours of precision work to draw and finalize one image, and when you need hundreds of such images the sheer time required to accomplish the task would be huge, so much so that by the time you finalize them and are ready to add them, the application would have lost some if not all of its appeal. That is the reason why the best of programmers are now turning to these pre-developed ready to deploy icons that you can easily incorporate in the app.

You can now safely concentrate on the back end of the software with these easy to use icons. Available in the PNG format, the size of these icons are 48 by 48 pixels along with inner images that are set in the center of a 26 by 26 pixels square. The snazzy manner of the representation of these makes them very interactive and easy to decipher, while making the application easy to use it gives the user a feel of comfort.

These icons are especially compatible with your windows 8 operating system as well as WP7 and come in a set of 823 unique images that are, as mentioned earlier, ready to be added to the application. The best feature would have to be the wide ranges of colors they are available in, you can get these amazing icons in as many as 14 colors including red, blue, green and the more unusual silver and grey, and the conventional black and white.

Anything that you may want for a mobile organizer is right here. In this particular set you can find icons for any usual tool you may find upon your desktop, such as folder, open message, link etc., more than these you have access to numerous hitherto un-conceived and unused images, such as a turtle icon or a bird icon. One of my favorite is a picture of a small entrance with an arrow pointing inwards which could be used to imply a login, along with a similar image with the arrow pointing outwards implying a logout. 823 of these simple and descriptive images are ready to be used, all you need to do is to is to buy them over here, download and you are ready to use them to your advantage. Keeping it simple while edging towards that extra bit of niftiness is the call of the day, why put forward a drab and complicated app when you can have this.

Pure Vector Can Help To Create Icon Successfully!

There are so many computer users want to use the bitmap effects such as Feather and Blur for getting simple highlights and shadows. It is good option for all computer users. However, if you want to rasterize such an image in the high resolution, then you should reset the high resolution effects of bitmaps or you should extent the image through Adobe Illustrator. If you want to get rid of this sort of problem, then you need to consider the designers information. There are assortments techniques or tools have been evolved in the software filed such as Opacity Mask, Liner and Radial, and Simplest Gradients through which designers are creating the modern and beautiful scalable icons without applying the bitmap effects. So, you need to select one of the best tools and techniques for creating the scalable icons on your computer. Also, you can take the help of professional designers for creating icons successfully. The main tool is Opacity Mask and simplest gradients, radial and linear. For masks being displayed rightly, the black color needs to be of real black. Watch and ward.

It is clearer in case, we have the example. Now, it is the alien and that looks like the raptorial shaven. I will not recommend applying Expand to the complex objects we may need components. First, we have to prepare ourselves as well as prepare round jack. We will have to make the flattened radial gradient; thus, we have to turn on Scale Strokes and Effects choice. The “cactus” is cute and he is a bit phallic in shape gives him a few extra charm. Bar is set very high and being good looking is not very enough for him.

Sign – Signified and the Ideational Component of Any Image

There are numbers of designs of sign or linguistic sign available for a particular symbol and product. However, the classic design is a best one produce by Swiss linguist of Ferdinand de Saussure. As per his opinion, this language is creating the image and all signs that have two sides like the coin or any paper sheet. However, the signified and the ideational component are all about the concept that comes in everyone mind. Also the previous mental concept is much more similar with the latest actual object. However, the Saussure is considerate the sign as the double side model of the sign. Saussure is also guess that once the convention is recognized, it is much critical to modify that allows languages to stay both static. It is also a set language resolute by the conventions to develop. In this way, the advanced terms are also required to deal with the condition and technologies that cover with older image.

According to Saussure, relation between signifier and signified is totally “arbitrary”, that is there is not any direct connection between shape and concept. For example, there is not any reason why letters C A T (and sound of the phonemes) make exactly an image of small, and domesticated animal with four legs and tail in minds. It is because of “convention”: and speakers of same language group that have agreed (learned) these letters and sounds evoke some image.

You can compare the aerial drawing of London (and field of the potential signifieds) with grid (signifiers field) placed on that. Grid is arbitrary and its structure (motivated) divides this drawing in areas (that will then get referred to). Division of this drawing is arbitrary. Two concepts are cited to disprove the Saussure’s claim, but, he gives reasons why these concepts are totally irrelevant.
